At present, TWS headphones are developing rapidly. The latest IDC report shows that in the second quarter of 2020, the global wearable device market has increased by 14.1% year-on-year. And the shipment of audio wearable devices has increased by 32.6% year-on-year, accounting for 60% of the total shipments of wearable devices. The new Huawei FreeBuds Pro should help Huawei to capture a larger market share.

Last year, the Huawei Freebuds 3 became the world’s first semi-open active noise-cancelling TWS headset. It was boasting of a bone voiceprint sensor + wind noise-canceling microphone, which is compatible with wired, wireless, and reverse charging. Also, it could provide 20 hours of battery life and came with a number of industry-leading features.

New Noise Reduction Technology?

Now, a new generation of Freebuds is here. Today, Huawei’s Weibo channel announced that the Huawei Freebuds Pro will officially come on September 10, focusing on noise reduction upgrades.

Gizchina News of the week

From the official poster, we can see that the Huawei Freebuds Pro adopts an in-ear design. It should bring better noise reduction effects.

Innovation + self-developed technology has always been Huawei’s two major killers for breaking ground in new areas. So there is every reason to think the Huawei Freebuds Pro will come with new features again.

Appearance and Other Expected Features

As for the appearance, the color of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro true wireless headset and its storage box is black. The storage box (and charger) has an arc below the waistline, and the bottom is relatively flat. So you can place it on the desktop.

At present, the noise reduction TWS headset experience on the market is relatively single, and it is difficult to meet the differentiated noise reduction needs of users in complex environments. We guess that Huawei Freebuds Pro is expected to make a fuss about environment recognition and AI noise reduction, bringing different noise reduction experience.

In addition, the wearing comfort, battery life, and interaction of Huawei Freebuds Pro are also expected to be improved.

From the name, we can assume the Pro version means high-end. And it should be way better the Freebuds 3 in terms of function and experience. But the price should also increase.

The Freebuds Pro should become Huawei’s new flagship in the TWS headset market this year, and the price is expected to exceed 1,000 yuan ($146).
