HONOR Pad 6 and HONOR Pad X6 announced at IFA 2020


Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, unveiled a couple of products at the IFA 2020 conference in Berlin, Germany. The company has released the Honor Watch GS Pro, Honor Watch ES, Honor MagicBook Pro 2020 Ryzen Edition, and Honor MagicBook 14/15 2020 Ryzen Edition. Furthermore, the brand also announced the Honor Pad 6 and Honor Pad X6 for Europe. This is not the first announcement of this device. The company officially released this device in China in May. 

HONOR Pad 6

The newly released Honor tablets for European countries are identical to each other. The only major differences between these tablets are screen size, memory configuration, LTE support, and colours. Except for these parameters, they all have exactly the same chassis and functions.

First of all, talking about the difference, Honor Pad 6 is equipped with a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 224ppi, 70% NTSC colour gamut, and 80.6% screen ratio. As a bonus, this panel has passed TÜVRheinland certification and can emit low blue light. In addition, it will be available in two memory versions – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. Although it will only be available in deep space gray colour. However, users can choose either the WiFi-only version or the WiFi + LTE version.

On the other hand, Honor Pad X6 is equipped with a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 156ppi, 60% colour gamut, and 75% screen ratio. Unlike the Honor Pad 6, this tablet has only one memory option – 3GB + 32GB version. Furthermore, it is a WiFi-only device thus there is no option of WiFi + LTE. 

HONOR Pad 6 and HONOR Pad X6 similarities

These tablets have a lot of things in common. For starters, they both use Huawei Kirin 710A SoC. This chip uses SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) 14nm process. n the camera department, we have a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. In addition, they all use IPS LCD panels with 16.7 million colors and 10-point multi-touch. Under the hood, these tablets have a 5000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging.

Surprisingly, they do not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so the brand will include a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box. However, they will not miss other necessities such as dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, dual speakers with Huawei Histen 6.1 surround sound technology, and a microSD card slot (up to 512GB). Both tablets run Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10 and come with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services).
