Realme provides one of the best mid-range smartphones in the market. The Chinese giant recently unveiled the Realme 7 series in India. As you may know, Realme launched: Realme 6, 6 Pro, 6i, and 6S phones under the number series. Hence, we all are waiting for the other two phones. Now we have the complete specifications of the Realme 7i which will be launching on September 17 in Indonesia.
The specifications come from Gadgetfight.id and is not official. Hence, take it as a pinch of salt. Coming to the rumored specifications, the Realme 7i sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1600×720. Although it takes the DNA from the Realme 7 series hence it is a 90Hz panel. It would have been better if Realme opted for an FHD+ display rather than focusing on a higher refresh rate display. 720p smartphones in 2020 is a deal-breaker.
One of the biggest upgrades on the Realme 7i smartphone is the new 64-megapixel sensor. The smartphone sports 64-megapixel primary, 12-megapixel, and two 2-megapixel sensors. The camera setup is similar to that of the Realme 7. However, the company might have opted for a Samsung 64-megapixel for this one. Coming to the front, there is a single 16-megapixel for selfies. It is good to see a punch-hole notch for a budget-oriented smartphone.

On the performance side, there is a Snapdragon 662 chipset. It is based on 12nm architecture. This processor was announced in January. Not a popular chipset at all as it offers mediocre performance. It will be enough for day to day tasks but don’t expect it to run games at high settings. The Realme 7i comes with 8GB RAM & 128GB of internal storage. There is a huge 5000mAH Battery that supports 18W Quick Charge.
Initial thoughts on Realme 7i
Since the pricing is not out, we cannot judge the phone. However, from the specifications on the sheet, it looks promising. Realme has made this phone for day to day tasks. If it comes at similar pricing of Realme 6i, then you may know that there aren’t many 64-megapixel phones. Nor are there phones with 90Hz panel. However, there is a strong competitor which might be cheaper too. It is no other than Redmi 9. The Redmi 9 doesn’t come with a high megapixel camera nor with a 90Hz display. But it has a better chipset in terms of gaming and an FHD+ display.
