On August 9, 2019, Huawei officially unveiled Huawei HiCar at the Huawei Developers Conference. The Huawei HiCar feature has since been available in a good chunk of Huawei’s smartphones. At the Huawei Developer Conference 2020, Yu Chengdong (Huawei’s consumer business CEO and Huawei’s executive director), revealed that HiCar now supports over 20 car manufacturers.
Furthermore, HiCar is currently active in about 150 cars and it targets 5 million cars by 2021. Yu Chengdong believes that more models will support this feature in the future. In addition, Yu Chengdong also revealed that Huawei currently has 1.8 million developers, 96,000 HMS integrated applications, 490 million active users, and 261 billion cumulative distribution of applications.
