Back in July, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Nord as its first mid-range smartphone in years. The device packs a 5G-ready Snapdragon 765G chipset, 90Hz AMOLED display, and a powerful camera combo with Optical Image Stabilization. Despite its appeal, OnePlus decided to launch the handset just in Europe and India, leaving the United States without a mid-range offering. Since the release of the OnePlus Nord, a number of reports and leaks emerged suggesting the arrival of a new variant of the device sporting a Snapdragon 690 5G in the United States. Now, the folks at Android Central have basically confirmed the arrival of the device to the Uncle Sam with the first 5G chipset under the SD6xx series. It will also be cheaper than the original Nord and will be called OnePlus Nord N10.
OnePlus Nord N10 5G specifications
AndroidCentral got the information straight from an insider source who claims the arrival of the handset in the US for later this year. The new handset boasts the codename “Billie”. If you’re familiar with OnePlus News, we’re sure you have spotted this model number before. Moreover, the new handset will be the first OnePlus to pack a 64MP camera. The original Nord, ships with a 48MP shooter. The main sensor will be joined by an 8MP wide-angle lens and two 2MP extra sensors, perhaps for depth reading and macro focus. What remains to be seen is whether the OIS will appear on this variant or not.

The source states that the Snapdragon 690 5G will be leading the show here. It’s slightly below the Snapdragon 765G in terms of performance, but it still is the better offering we can get in the SD6xx series. The chipset is made on an 8nm node, comes with Cortex A77 cores, and a Snapdragon X51 5G modem. The handset will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. These specifications are built around a 6.49-inch Panel with 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution.
According to the report, the company will release the handset during the Q4 2020. It will be cheaper than the original Nord with a sub-$400 price tag. This “affordable” price will help the Nord series to grow further in popularity.
Apart from the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, the company is also preparing a OnePlus “Clover” mid-range device. It will boast the Snapdragon 460 and 18W fast-charging and microSD card support. This device will likely be priced below $200 and will be the most affordable way to enter OnePlus ecosystem. This variant’s launch may coincide with the release of the N10 5G.
