Apart from Samsung, most companies are still giving their early steps in the foldable smartphone scene. Of course, you can take Motorola with its RAZR in account, but the hardware inside hardly makes it a worthy competitior for the likes of Galaxy Z Fold 2. Huawei was one company that had strength to compete in this segment, but due to the US ban, the company’s dreams for foldable segment were turned in ashes.
For now, we can clearly state that Samsung has this segment under its belt, but companies like Royole are running to become relevant in this particular segment. Royole may not be the most popular name out there, but if the company, succeeds to launch a competitive foldable smartphone it can catapults itself and becomes of the main companies in this particular niche. Back in 2019, the company announced the FlexPai at CES. Now, it is ready to unveil the FlexPai 2.
On September 21, the company rill unveil the new foldable device during its “Strategy and New Product Launch” event. The device has just made a visit to AnTuTu benchmark. Under the hood, the handset will pack the Snapdragon 865 SoC, not the Plus variant. The flagship level handset will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. Unsurprisingly, it runs Android 10 OS straight out of the box. We assume that Royole has its own set of apps and features to run above stock Android. After all, the vanilla software still lacks appeal for foldable smartphones.
Gizchina News of the week
The foldable device amassed 526,023 points in AnTuTu. If you’re familiar with the benchmark app, you know that this is a combined results based on CPU, GPU, Memory and UX performance. As you can see, the handset will not disappoint those waiting for a flagship device. Something that cannot be said about the Motorola RAZR, for example.
