Just a couple of months ago, Realme unveiled the Realme Narzo 10 family but now is ready to unveil the Narzo 20 series. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh division decided to take a bit of today’s hype to unveil the Realme C17 a new mid-range smartphone to keep up the affordable C-series. In counterpart to the Narzo 20 series, the Realme C17 is going global today.
Realme C17 specifications
The Realme C17 is a truly capable mid-range handset and shows how the low-end segment is set to become more interesting in the coming years. First of all, the handset comes with the budget-oriented Snapdragon 460 chipset. It’s an 11nm-based Octa-Core CPU with 4x Cortex-A73 cores plus 4x Cortex-A53 cores. The horsepower is paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage.
The specifications are built around a 6.5-inch LCD with a HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Once again, Realme continues its campaign to popularize the high-refresh rate by offering a simple panel with HD resolution but a smooth frequency. It’s really interesting to see the high-refresh rate displays arriving on the low-end segment. Hopefully, other companies will follow this trend. Another interesting details is that this panel brings slim bezels despite its pricing point. Once again, Realme sticks with a punch-hole for the 8MP selfie snapper.
Gizchina News of the week
Moving around to the back we have a Quad-Camera array with four shooter aligned in a L-setup. It comprises a main 13MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP Ultra-Wide angle unit, 2MP for macro shots and a 2MP monochrome shooter. As you can see, this is a rather modest camera setup that just gives the phone the “Quad-Camera” badge. Don’t expect advanced capabilities, but a setup that may perform well in good lighting conditions.
The Realme C17 draws power from a huge 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging. It’s good to see that low-end and mid-range smartphones are not disappointing in the battery department. Apart from other companies, Realme is delivering the 18W charging brick. The phone ships with Android 10-based Realme UI 1.0 straight out of the box.
Pricing and Availability
The Realme C17 will reach the market in Lake Green and Navy Blue colorways with a BDT15,990 price tag. This should be around $190 and €160 once it arrives in other regions. The company will run the first flash sale on September 22 at Daraz. The open sales will start on September 24. While the device is set to reach other markets, the company will disclose International availability details later.
