The Royole FlexPai 2 smartphone, equipped with a foldable screen, went on sale in China today. Before the start of the sale, a virtual queue of almost 300,000 people lined up for the smartphone, and all smartphones were sold out in 1.8 seconds.

It is currently the most affordable 5G smartphone with a foldable screen. It is available at a lower price than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Huawei Mate Xs. The device is available for under $1,500 for a version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage. Just yesterday it was reported that 150,000 pre-orders were placed on the smartphone. The size of the starting batch was not disclosed. It is also unknown when the second batch of Royole FlexPai 2 will go on sale.
The smartphone has a flexible 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1440 pixels, it runs the Snapdragon 865 SoC. The Royole FlexPai 2 runs waterOS 2.0 based on Android 10. The main camera is 64-megapixel, there is a 3x optical zoom. For selfies, a 32-megapixel camera sensor is available. The smartphone received Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, A-GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS modules, USB 3.1 Type-C, two stereo speakers, side fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, compass and a barometer.
