If you’re familiar with this world of Chinese smartphones, then Transsion Holdings is not a new name for you. It’s a big Chinese conglomerate behind smartphone brands like Tecno and Infinix. These brands may not be appealing as Realme, Xiaomi, and Oppo, but there’s a reason for it. Rather than releasing smartphones in competitive markets, Transsion bets on emerging countries in Africa and Asia. This year, however, the company is giving more “pomp” to its launch promoting online events to reveal new competitive smartphones. Today, the company unveiled the Tecno Spark 6 that arrives in Pakistan with decent specifications.
Tecno Spark 6 specifications
Under the hood, the chipset boasts MediaTek’s Helio G70 chipset. This is a capable chipset with a gaming pedigree. Of course, don’t expect all games to run on max settings, but you won’t have problems running any app. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and you can expand this amount via a good microSD card.
Gizchina News of the week
Tecno Spark 6 specs are built around a massive 6.8-inch display with HD+ resolution. It’s an LCD with a left-aligned punch-hole that serves as a house for the 8MP selfie snapper. Moving around to the back we can see a plastic back with a gradient finish. It houses a circular camera array featuring four shooters. We have a 16MP primary, a 2MP macro, 2MP depth, and a 2MP shooter for AI scenes. Tecno is teasing the 8x Digital Zoom offered by the primary lens.
Worth noting that the phone comes with Android 10 straight out of the box. However, we don’t think that a device like this one will get any future updates to Android 11. So it’s better to put your priorities on paper before buying the Spark 6. The software comes with HiOS 7.0 skin, Bluetooth Audio Share feature allowing you to pair your device with 3 Bluetooth sources.
The phone draws power from a massive 5,000mAh battery that charges with 18W fast-charging. Based on this, it’s not hard to guess that it comes with a USB-C port.
Pricing and Availability
The new handset is available in Black, Blue, Purple, and Orange colorways. The device costs PKR 20,599 ($125) and the sales are open. For now, there’s no mention if this handset will reach other markets in Asia or Africa. For the price and specs, it’s not a bad smartphone.
