The Chromecast Google TV has made a huge stir around it. But this is not accidental. We mean it is going to be the first streaming dongle from Google, which will come with a dedicated remote and Android TV. The latter is the rebranded Google TV operating system.
We are waiting for the Chromecast Google TV to hit the market on September 30. But now it has appeared on the Google Play Console, revealing its key features.
On September 30, Google will hold a new product launch conference, releasing the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones. But at the same time, we will meet the new Chromecast Google TV. The leaked documents show the device is codenamed Sabrina. It will come with a 2 GB RAM and the Amlogic S905D3 chipset. The chips from this company has been used in TV boxes and dongles for ages. So that’s not accidental Google has decided to use hardware from this company too.
Gizchina News of the week
The Chromecast Google TV will support full HD streaming (1920×1080). Recently, we saw a video from Redditor u/fuzztub07 suggesting the dongle will support up to 4K HDR. But now, we see that news wasn’t accurate. And the Chromecast Google TV will only support an HD resolution video. However, another feature is in line with the leak – the new Chromecast is listed with Android 10. This also means it will not fall behind other products on the market that run on Android 10 or Android 9 versions.
Chromecast Google TV Features
As said, earlier this week, the Redditor u/fuzztub07 showed real images and a video. They clearly showed how the Chromecast Google TV will look and perform. From the retail box images, we saw that the dongle will come with a USB Type-C. Plus, we learned that the remote will be powered by a couple of AAA batteries.
Apart from this, from the video, we learned that the Google TV has an interface with OTT apps like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and so on. Thus, it will compete with the streaming devices like the Amazon Fire TV Stick. However, we are dealing with a Chromecast device. This simply means it will also support casting from supported apps. In other words, you can stream content from your phone as well. At last, there have been a few other features such as multiple user account support, Bluetooth support, and HDMI-CEC.
