Major smartphone manufacturers release new flagship phones one after another. So it’s Huawei’s turn. And we are waiting for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro to come soon. In mid-September, Huawei’s consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong was talking about the next generation Mate series phones in a video on social media. He said to wait a little more and everything will be done following the schedule.
Much earlier, we learned that the Huawei Mate 40 series includes 4 models of Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro + and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design. Huawei’s annual flagship Mate 40 series may be released globally in late October. In China, it should send the first batch as early as the end of October.
As for the key features we are aware about, the Huawei Mate 40 series adopts a double-hole-punch screen in the upper left corner. The display is curved. However, the high versions will sport better front camera sensors.
Gizchina News of the week
According to a Weibo blogger, the Huawei Mate 40 series has innovative and upgraded video recording functions. The Mate 30 series released last year came with the Kirin 990 chip. Phones from this series also support 4K resolution time-lapse photography as well as Huawei’s first BM3D SLR image noise reduction technology and dual-domain joint video noise reduction technology. The latter makes noise processing more accurate during video shooting. In addition, through motion compensation and frame interpolation algorithm, the final generation of 7680 slow motion video can be also considered as a highlight. This year’s Mate 40 series will come with more ‘black technologies’ in various aspects of software and hardware.
Huawei Mate 40 Series Key Features
Previously, we have reported that the standard version of the Mate 40 will carry a curved screen + rear triple-camera solution. The higher model will have a combination of waterfall screen + rear quad-camera module. The another model has five openings. Compared with the first two, there is a large rectangular opening in the middle, which may be the rear camera module of the Mate 40 Pro.
At present, Huawei has not yet officially announced the release time of its new flagship smartphone Mate 40 series. But we know it will come with a self-developed Kirin 9000 chip. Yu Chengdong previously stated that the Kirin 9000 will likely be the last generation of Huawei’s Kirin high-end chips.
