OnePlus teases OnePlus Nord N10 5G ahead of October 15 event

OnePlus Z

Two months ago, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Nord as its first mid-range smartphone since the controversial OnePlus X. The OnePlus Nord is a competitive smartphone bringing 5G capabilities thanks to the Snapdragon 765G and powerful camera setup with OIS. Something that is not common among mid-range devices. However, there was a specific fact in OnePlus Nord that made some users discontent. It is quite limited in availability. For instance, users in the United States couldn’t get one. Since the Nord release, and even before, we started to see leaks and rumors pointing to the existence of a mid-range variant with Snapdragon 690 5G SoC. This is Qualcomm’s mid-range 5G chipset with a lower price tag than the SD765G. Everything was pointing to a release of a new variant in Q4 2020. Today, with the hype growing for the OnePlus 8T, the company is finally ready to tease its new OnePlus Nord.

OnePlus Nord Instagram account posted a teaser today. The teaser is quite simple, it only shows a hand-drawn OnePlus logo in black along with a very suggestive caption that says #ComingSoon. A couple of weeks ago, we saw a report pointing to the existence of a new OnePlus Nord device dubbed OnePlus Nord N10 5G in the United States. Now, we believe that this is the new device coming from OnePlus. However, the company may still have more surprises for the October 14 event. According to recent reports, besides the OnePlus 8T, the company has five new products to unveil on that date. A couple of months ago, the company teased its intentions of expanding the business to all the segments in the smartphone market. There’s a low-end OnePlus smartphone with the “Clover” codename. It may be released on the same date with Snapdragon 460 and 18W fast-charging. However, let’s focus on the OnePlus Nord N10 5G for now.

OnePlus Nord N10 5G specifications

According to all the rumors and leaks so far, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G flaunts a 6.49-inch FHD+ Display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone will carry Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 690 5G chipset along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. On the camera department, it will bring a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle shooter, and two 2MP snappers.

Will this concept finally see the light of day?

For now, the other specifications are still unknown. According to leaks, the price tag will be under $400. So we believe that OnePlus is cutting some corners here and there. The device is likely targeting the Pixel 4a and the iPhone SE 2020 in the United States. For now, we don’t know if the company will make this a US exclusive or will bring it to more markets.

OnePlus’ next big event will happen on October 14 and October 15 in China. We’ll probably hear a lot about the company’s upcoming products in the next days. So stay tuned.
