Researchers at Google will take seriously the search for bugs and vulnerabilities in the software of OEM devices. Android has long earned the image of an operating system full of bugs and vulnerabilities. The abundance of vulnerabilities, bugs and the constant risk of hacking does not give optimism to users.
But not everything depends on Google. There are a huge number of Android devices on the market that differ in characteristics, price and, ultimately, manufacturer. The target audience of the operating system from Google is huge and the largest vendors are striving to improve Android in their own way. But quite often not all the user interfaces and the third-party applications do benefit from the security of the green robot.
Therefore, the guys from Google decided to start researching the software of smartphone manufacturers for errors that could affect the security of Android.
The initiative is called the Android Partner Vulnerability Initiative (APVI) and the research team has already identified a number of issues that have been reported to OEMs. In particular, we are talking about Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Meizu and ZTE companies. Alas, in some cases there was no reaction and a number of vulnerabilities were never fixed. For its part, Google has created a special site where it will publish information about the identified holes.

This issue appears to be a widespread issue and there have been reports on multiple platforms. We have seen reports on Reddit, Pixel Community Forums, and even Android 11 Support Forums. Is there any quick fix for this issue? Yes, some users temporarily “solve” these problems by simply locking and unlocking their devices. This is not a long-term solution as the issue reappears.
According to reports, this is not the first time that this issue is ravaging the Android 11 system. This problem has been obvious – although considering that the system has been in developer preview, bugs are expected. Nevertheless, the recently released stable Android 11 version did not solve this problem.
