Samsung Galaxy S20 series has started to receive One UI 3.0 public beta

About a month ago, Samsung announced a beta testing program for the new version of One UI graphical interface, numbered 3.0. The test subjects were supposed to be the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy 20 Ultra. The initial beta was for developers and was available for US and Korean Galaxy S20 units.

Advanced users can already manually download the developer beta to try out Android 11. However, this option is not for everyone. The company today officially announced the start of the public beta of One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S20 series.

Samsung Galaxy S20 series has started to receive One UI 3.0 public beta

According to a recent post in the Beta Notifications section of the Samsung Members app, the Galaxy S20 is now free to install the One UI 3.0 beta. The first beta will add all the new features introduced in the previous developer build.

In addition to the main innovations of the 11th version of Android, the new firmware from Samsung has several improvements of its own design. For example, the design of the home screen and quick access bar has changed slightly.

Samsung has been testing the first “beta” for a long time in South Korea. It’s a common practice of the company before sending an update around the world.

The public beta of One UI 3.0 with Android 11 will start shipping immediately for US units of the Galaxy S20. This will most likely happen in a few days. After that, the rest of the countries will also start receiving the update.

One UI 3.0 beta testing will launch soon for the Galaxy Note 10 and S10

The Korean manufacturer is not only ready to publicly beta test One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 for the Galaxy Note20 and S20, but is also close to launching a similar program for the Galaxy Note10 and S10.

Earlier, Samsung announced the launch of a three-generation Android update program for many of its smartphones and tablets. As it was announced then, the Galaxy S20 smartphones will be the first to receive Android 11 this year, with subsequent availability on other devices.

The official Samsung blog revealed that 38 devices will receive 3 major updates to the Green Robot. Samsung previously claimed that only the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines would be so lucky, but the full list is much more extensive.

We now know that the Galaxy S10 and S20 smartphones will receive these updates, and the same is true for the Note 10 and Note 20. Further down the list, we see the latest Galaxy A devices, but not every model. Next, we can mention the Galaxy Tab tablets, namely the Tab S6 and S7. Finally, Samsung also adheres to this policy with respect to each of its foldable phones.

Samsung also clarified that support for the Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Z and Galaxy Tab S lines will be distributed to absolutely all devices, and the list of the more budget A line will be expected to be limited only to certain devices.
