If I ask you, what is that one thing you want dis-missed from the iPhones? Well, the most common answer I will get is the notch. Apple introduced a breath-taking high screen to body ratio display, 3 years ago with iPhone X. At that time, the display looked the most beautiful. However, last year, the smartphone display has completely revolutionized. From a big traditional notch to a very tiny punch-hole notch sitting silently on the display. So the question is when is the Tech Giant planning to ditch this big notch?
Well, the answer is not anytime soon. The answer comes with a popular tech leakster on Twitter. He tweeted that the iPhone’s Notch is here to stay. At-least for the next 2 generations. Meaning not only the iPhone 12 series will come with a notch but also the 2021’s iPhone 13 series. He illustrated that the iPhone 12 will have an identical notch as we have seen in the past 3 years. However, for the 13th generation iPhone, the notch is to become a bit thinner.
Apple is using a traditional notch when in-display camera technology is being used
Gizchina News of the week
On the other hand, Chinese companies have already revealed their in-display camera technology. ZTE released the world’s first phone with an in-display camera. And we are expecting other companies to release their phones with the new tech as-well. I totally get the idea behind “Perfection”, Apple won’t gamble on a recent tech.
However, COVID-19 has also changed everything. To be honest, Face ID when wearing a mask, is a really bad idea. Making the huge notch with 3D facial recognition obsolete. Hence, Apple could revive the Touch ID, and ditch out the 3D facial recognition tech for a better display. But, the tech giant may have other plans.
This might be very early to say since the next-gen iPhone 13 series will not be out before a year. However, the leakster Ice universe has a good reputation. And for iPhones, it really makes sense that the company will be using the most refined technology rather than experimenting. So here you have, the iPhone 12 and 13 series with the same old notch. We will have more info on the launch event set for October 13th. Apple is expected to unveil 4 new iPhones. Including iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Let’s hope that the tech giant surprises us, somehow.
