At tomorrow’s event, OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 8T flagship, rumors of which have flooded the Web in recent days. And although the design of the device has long ceased to be a secret, it is always better to evaluate its appearance in real photographs instead of perfect advertising renders.
This was facilitated by a snapshot leaked to Twitter, discovered by the leak finder Ishan Agarwal. It features the OnePlus 8T in Aquamarine Green next to a red branded box, which the manufacturer revealed recently. All the details about the hardware, price and availability of the device will be announced tomorrow, October 14.

As part of the ongoing promo campaign, OnePlus has published the final touch – the box in which the OnePlus 8T will be delivered to the new owners. It looks in the same style as the OnePlus 8/8 Pro. A long red packaging with a minimalist design (minimal amount of text). The company accompanied the picture with information about its contents. The smartphone itself, a protective film (glued from the factory) and a transparent case; and of course a 65-watt fast charging unit and a proprietary USB-C cable (probably two-way).
Gizchina News of the week
It is unlikely that the package will include anything else; although as a bonus, early buyers may be offered some of the upcoming headphones. OnePlus Buds Z or OnePlus Buds Wireless Z Bass Edition. We will find out how it will actually be on October 14.
OnePlus 8T will receive an outdated camera sensor
It’s no secret that OnePlus has decided to retain the brand’s most advanced smartphone OnePlus 8 Pro; which is why only one flagship device will be presented on October 14 – the OnePlus 8T. Now it turned out that the manufacturer intends not to create competition with the main flagship of the year, which is why the autumn smartphone will receive an outdated IMX586 camera sensor.
This sensor was introduced back in 2018 and is found both in budget devices (like the Honor Play 4T) and in previous OnePlus flagships: 7, 7 Pro, 7T, 7T Pro, 8 and even Nord. The top-end IMX689 sensor will remain only on the OnePlus 8 Pro, while there is no information on the OnePlus 8T Pro camera yet.
At the moment, it is we do not know how exactly the manufacturer will explain such a decision. In general, this situation is indirectly similar to the approach of Google; whose Pixel line comes with the same 12-megapixel IMX363 sensor from year to year; but this is due to its unique combination of quality and affordability.
