In recent years, the AnTuTu benchmark has given netizens an idea of the performance of new devices. However, it is public knowledge that the AnTuTu score does not translate to the actual performance of smartphones. There are a couple of parameters that affect AnTuTu scores, for instance, RAM size. Apple recently released its latest flagship series, iPhone 12 series. This series has four smartphones which include iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. These phones use Apple Bionic A14 SoC.
According to AnTuTu’s database, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are its new entrants. This listing gives us the performance metrics of the smartphones. Let’s now take a look at the AnTuTu scores for the two new iPhones and see how they compare to their Android counterpart.
The iPhone 12 version on AnTuTu comes with only 4GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. On the software end, this smartphone has iOS 14.1. According to the listing, this device got an overall AnTuTu score of 564,899. The CPU, GPU, MEM, and UX test record 167894, 201085, 105677, and 90243 respectively.

As for the iPhone 12 Pro, this device comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. It uses the same software as the iPhone 12. On the overall AnTuTu test, this smartphone scores 572133. The CPU, GPU, MEM, and UX test record 167437, 196812, 114462, and 93422 respectively.
Interestingly, when it comes to AnTuTu scores, the iPhone 12/Pro falls behind Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. The SD865+ easily scores above 600,000 on AnTuTu. This suggests that in terms of AnTuTu’s performance, Qualcomm’s SD865+ is ahead of Bionic A14.
The iPhone 12 series comes with 4GB and 6GB. Of course, since the iPhone 12 comes with 4GB of RAM, we expect the iPhone 12 Mini to use the same capacity. The Pro models will use the same 6GB of RAM. We already have the iPhone 2 Pro with 6GB of RAM thus the Pro Max version will use the same RAM capacity. For those who are unaware, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has also been spotted on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform with 6GB of RAM.
According to a recent report, Apple will have to take some profit hit with the iPhone 12 series especially the Pro models. Although the company removed the headset and charger, this is not enough to offset the cost incurred from the inclusion of 5G, OLED display, and storage upgrades. Apple will have to cope with the relatively lower profits this time.
