In less than a month from now, Sony’s PlayStation 5 will make its big debut in some markets. For that reason, the company is running to build the hype and anticipation for the next-gen console. So far, the company already revealed its pricing and strategy for many markets where the new console will land, but for some reason, left India without consistent info about the new console. Well today, the company is finally dropping the mystery and revealing the console and accessories pricing in the Indian market.
In India, the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition, that comes with the Disc Driver will be priced at INR 49,990 (~$680). The Digital Edition will be priced at INR 39.990 ($544). As you can see there is a huge price gap between the two versions, even bigger than the original North American price which is $499 for the Disc version and $399 for the Digital Only. The Indian variants surely are more expensive, and we assume that this has to do with import taxes and local duties.
When it comes to the accessories, the PlayStation 5 comes with just one controller. Those wanting an extra unit will have to pay INR 5,990 for the Dual Sense, nearly $82. The PULSE 3D Wireless Headset, on other hand, will be priced at INR 8,590, which is just around $117. The Media Remote will retail at INR 2,590 ~$35,27. The HD Camera retails at INR 5,190 and the DualSense Charging Station will cost INR 2,590, these prices can be converted to $70 and $35,27 respectively.

Games Pricing
In addition to the accessories, the company also revealed how much the Indian customers will have to pay for the debuting titles of the PlayStation 5. The first titles are Demon’s Souls, Destruction Allstars, Sackboy a Big Adventure, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The first two will be priced at INR 4,999 ($68) just like the Ultimate Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales that comes with the Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. Sackboy a Bid Adventure and the vanilla edition of Spider-Man Miles Morales will retail at $54,45.
Interestingly enough, the PS5 costs as same as Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox Series X which is priced at INR 49,990. The Xbox Series S is priced at INR 34,990 which is just around $476. Despite the lower price, worth noting that the Xbox Series S does not bring the same hardware as its big brother and isn’t on par with any of the two PS5 versions. The Series S does not have a disc drive and only provides up to 512GB of storage.
Apart from the console details, the company is yet to disclose the official launch date of the console in India. The Xbox units will be available on November 10, and we assume that the PS5 will not take much longer than that to arrive.
