Redmi K20 now getting its first MIUI 12 (Android 11) beta update

Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, is quite good with software updates. One of the major selling points of this company is its software support for very old phones. In some cases, Xiaomi releases updates for some smartphones that are up to five years old. Over the past few weeks, it has been releasing the development beta of MIUI 12 on top of Android 11 for its flagships. According to recent reports, the MIUI 12 (Android 11) development beta is now available for the Redmi K20.

This update is an Android cross-version upgrade, thus we expect the update package size to be large. In addition to upgrading to Android 11, it also optimized the stability of the system, optimized the fluency of the system, adds super wallpapers, optimizes the memory usage, and takes care of lagging issues.

Furthermore, due to the major version upgrade of Android, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition (Ultra) has suspended the internal beta (MIUI 12 Android 11) update from yesterday. However, this device is getting the latest MIUI 12 (Android 10) stable update.
