iPhone 12 passed an extreme water resistance test

As soon as the company declares that its device is waterproof, there will definitely be those who want to check this statement. And not only in ordinary water but also in extremely deep water. The iPhone 12 water resistance test was done by the founder of the EverythingApplePro EAP channel. And so that the new smartphone does not feel lonely, the iPhone 11 will also swim with it.

iPhone 12 passed an extreme water resistance test

At the first stage, it was decided to immerse both devices in water to a depth of 2 meters. And they coped with the test with honor, managing to hold out in the water for half an hour. After testing, the screen, touchpad and microphone continued to function properly.

It was decided not to stop there and the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 were decided to be submerged in water to a depth of 5.49 meters. And the smartphones passed this test perfectly. But the enthusiasts did not rest on this either. Encouraged by the results of the first two rounds, they decided to conduct a more extreme test, sending smartphones in a swim to a depth of 9.14 meters. And the device passed this test successfully, having survived immersion in water for 21 minutes.

Naturally, one can hardly recommend carrying out such tests in everyday life. The fact that smartphones that have passed the test continue to function does not mean that it is worth repeating such experiments. Note that this test confirms that Apple is serious about waterproofing its iPhones.

Gizchina News of the week

Here is the amount of RAM and battery capacity of the iPhone 12 series

This is the battery capacity for the 2020 iPhone flagships:

  • iPhone 12 mini – 2227 mAh
  • iPhone 12 – 2851 mAh
  • iPhone-12 Pro – 2815 mAh
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max – 3687 mAh

In the case of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro Max, we are dealing with a downgrade. For comparison, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max had 3,110mAh and 3,969mAh batteries, respectively. It seems that in terms of autonomy, Apple made a bet on the energy efficiency of the 5nm A14 Bionic chip.

If we talk about the amount of RAM, then the alignment of forces is as follows:

  • iPhone 12 mini – 4 GB
  • iPhone 12 — 4 GB
  • iPhone-12 Pro — 6 GB
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max — 6 GB.

It turns out that the two younger iPhone 12 models received the same amount of RAM as the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. But the older models have increased the amount of RAM to 6 GB. And let’s be objective that that much RAM is enough for the vast majority of tasks.
