Having recently presented its flagship line, Huawei Mate 40, the manufacturer does not forget about the mid-budget segment and, according to the well-known insider Digital Chat Station, Huawei is preparing a new series of Nova 8 smartphones.
The company will adopt two chipset options: Dimensity 720 in the lower version and Dimensity 800U in the older one. The rest of the characteristics will be common and will combine a 6.53″ OLED display with 60-Hz frequency and FHD+ resolution, a Quad-camera (64 + 8 + 2 + 2 Mp), a 16-Mp front camera and a thin (7.46-mm) body weighing 178 g. Inside it, we have a battery with a modest capacity of 3800mAh, compensated by an ultra-fast 66-watt charging. The release of Huawei Nova 8 series, most likely, will take place in November.
Huawei Nova 8 Series Models Coming In November
Recently, a Weibo blogger revealed that the smartphones of the Nova 8 series are scheduled to be released in November. The source claims the Huawei Nova 8 line will have a few models. They include the Huawei Nova 8 and the Huawei Nova 8 Pro. These handsets have the code-name “Jessica” and “JessicaH”. They are going to be the first high 120Hz refresh rate display smartphones in Huawei’s Nova series. The dual-hole hyperboloid screen solution of the previous generation of Huawei’s Nova7 Pro will continue. The front dual-camera notch is in the upper left corner of the screen, which is consistent with the position of the Huawei P40 series.

In other aspects, according to the previously exposed news, the new Huawei Nova 8 series will continue the OLED hole-punch full-screen design. The screen refresh rate of at least the latter two models will increase from the previous 60Hz to 120Hz.
Of course, in addition to the screen, more users are concerned about the configuration of the Nova 8; especially the choice of chips. In this regard, according to past practice, the machine may come with the Kirin 9000 series processors. But due to well-known reasons, this year’s Kirin 9000 chips are likely to be insufficient for the Mate 40 series. So we expect that it will be difficult to stock other models. Therefore, some media believe that the Nova 8 series will have to use the previous-generation flagship chip Kirin 990.
The suspected brand-new Nova 8 series new machine has now been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. If no surprises, the machine will meet with you in November.
