Huawei Mate 40 Pro gets its first update – arrives with some great features


A few days ago, Huawei officially released what could be its last flagship smartphones for a long time. The Huawei Mate 40 series has four models including Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design. These smartphones will be officially released in China on October 30th. However, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is already getting its first update.

According to recent reports, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro in Europe has ushered in the first system update. This update comes with a camera dual-view and dual-recording function. Recall that at the launch conference, the company highlighted these features. Furthermore, the update optimizes the video editing function in the gallery and also improves system security. This update is designated EMUI 11.0.0.123 and it weighs 842MB. The Chinese version of this phone should come with these features out-of-the-box.

  • Camera: Adds dual-view and dual-recording mode. This makes it possible to use the front and rear cameras at the same time to shoot video.
  • Application: Ads Huawei App Store application.
  • Gallery: Optimizes the video editing function in the gallery application and supports the creation of short personalized videos.
  • Security: Integrates Android 10 security fixes for September 2020 to improve system security.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ comes with the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chip. This smartphone uses a 6.76-inch 88-degree curved screen. This display boasts of a 2772 × 1344 resolution, P3 color gamut, 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The Mate 40 Pro also supports 3D Face recognition as well as an on-screen fingerprint sensor.
