OnePlus has launched a lot of new smartphones in 2020. One of the unusual launches was the OnePlus mid-ranger known as the OnePlus Nord. But it wasn’t the end. OnePlus recently unveiled two more devices in the budget lineup. They are known as OnePlus N100 and N10 5G. And we might see the two smartphones in the US market shortly. And I am really excited about the N10 5G in particular. Why? Well, because it is a 5G budget-oriented smartphone.
Why the N10 5G can be a good offering for the US market?
OnePlus N100 comes at a price tag of £179 (~$232) while the N10 5G comes at £379 (~$427). These prices are of the official European version. The US version might have cheaper prices. Taking these prices in mind, if we compare the current competition in the current US market, then OnePlus N10 5G seems a perfect offering. The thing that makes N10 special is the 5G connectivity. Since there are not many 5G options in budget-oriented smartphones, the OnePlus N10 5G can take a sweet spot.
The cheapest 5G smartphone is the TCL 10 5G that comes at $399. The phone does offer a better chipset which is the Snapdragon 765G. But it also lacks faster charging and a high 90Hz refresh rate. Apart from TCL, the recently launched Google Pixel 4a 5G comes at $499, which again is priced higher than the N10 5G. Hence, the N10 5G perfectly fits in the US market with its 5G highlight. If OnePlus is able to launch it a little below the European pricing, then it will be a much better deal.
On the other hand, the OnePlus N100 might not be the perfect phone. There are a lot of smartphones in that price range. One of them is Moto G Power at $220, which offers a lot more value. Hence, I am not really impressed by the N100. But looking forward to the N10 5G in the US market.
