Galaxy Watch Active 2 gets more Galaxy Watch 3 features in a new update!
Samsung has now rolled out a new update to its Galaxy Watch Active 2 that brings several new additions to the table. The new update carries the firmware version R820XXU1CTJ5 and weighs around just over 60MB. The new firmware update is currently rolling out in South Korea only but it should make its way to more regions in the coming days. You should receive the update notification and if that’s not the case, then you can do so manually in the Galaxy Wearable app. If that does not work for you, then you don’t need to worry since the update might be rolling out in batches.

Coming to the new additions, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 gets voice guidance during exercises through a paired headset. Furthermore, the voice guidance will also work for the accumulated distance, heart rate while running or biking. There is a slight change in Always On Display. You will no longer see the second hand in the watch when Always On Display is turned on. Your Galaxy Watch will also chime from time to time giving you some useful tips.
Earlier, Galaxy Watch Active 2 received major key features such as a new running coach, running analysis, VO2 measurement, and fall detection. With the new update, the smartwatch has received few small but nifty additions.
More countries to follow the suit!
After South Korea, we’re expecting the update to go global in the next coming days. If that happens, we will definitely keep our readers updated. The previous major update brought the new operating system dubbed Tizen 5.5 with One UI 2.0. This new update, on the other hand, is more of a small patch update that adds few new features.
