Here are 42 Huawei/Honor smartphones that will get the Harmony OS update


After the first ban on Huawei by the U.S., the company unveiled its own operating system. This system is called Hongmeng OS in China and Harmony OS globally. According to the company, the first developers’ beta for this system will arrive on December 18. Furthermore, by April 2021, we should have the first public beta. Huawei claims that over 90% of its smartphones will be eligible for an upgrade to this new system.

Now, we have the first list of possible eligible devices from Huawei Central. Looking at the list, there are 42 Huawei and Honor smartphones, 3 smartwatches, and 3 tablets. The list even includes some devices that are not official presently

However, please note that this list is not officially confirmed in any way. Huawei Central compiles the list considering recent leaks and available device information. The source states that it will consistently update the list and may add/remove devices on the list. Nevertheless, it is interesting to note that only nova, P, and Mate series devices are in line for Harmony OS 2.0. The list does not include any smartphone from the Enjoy and Y series.

Furthermore, in the Honor segment, there is no entry-level phone on the list. It is possible that smartphones will Google Mobile Services will not be switching. Of course, we can see that three tablets and smartwatches are also on the list. As for the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, it will arrive with Harmony OS out-of-the-box.
