The Vivo Y51 (2020) made its big arrival in Pakistan in September this year. Since its release, Indian customers started to wonder when the device will reach the subcontinent. One time that Vivo is one of the most relevant smartphone makers in the country, the release of a new mid-range device there seems certain, but still, October has passed and the device wasn’t released there. Well, it seems that Indian customers finally can hold their breath for the device as it has passed through India BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). The certification is an important step given by the device ahead of its release. Now, the arrival of the mid-range phone in the country seems imminent.
The Vivo Y51 (2020) has passed through BIS certification with a V2030 model number. Worth noting that it also passed through SDPPI certification, which also suggests that it’s also coming to Indonesia.
The Vivo Y51 (2020) is a solid mid-range contender with interesting specifications including an AMOLED display and a 48MP camera.

Vivo Y51 (2020) specifications
The Vivo Y51 (2020) flaunts a gorgeous 6.38-inch AMOLED panel with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. Thanks to its OLED nature, the panel is able to hide a fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, we have the not so impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. We know that this still is a solid chipset that can run apps without any hassle and even some demanding game on low settings, but it’s already outdated if we compare it with the 2020 standards. Still, Vivo has been kind enough to pair the Octa-Core SoC with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. If that amount isn’t enough for you, there’s a microSD card slot allowing you to expand the storage up to 256GB.
The display houses a 16MP snapper that lives inside of the waterdrop notch. Moving around to the back, we have a Quad-Camera setup housing a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and two 2MP sensors for reading depth and macro shots. The phone brings Android 10 with FunTouch OS 10 skin running on top. If it is eligible for OriginOS based on Android 11, only time will tell.
Last but not least we have a 4,500mAh battery keeping light on. It is charged via 18W fast-charging through a USB Type-C port. In Pakistan, the only market where the phone is available, customers have to pay PKR 36,999, which is just around $234. We expect a similar price tag, or maybe a little less, in India.
