At the OPPO Future Technology Conference, the company officially announced the OPPO X 2021 scroll screen concept machine. It brings a brand-new smartphone form that can be rolled up like a picture scroll with zero creases.

The company said that the OPPO X 2021 scroll screen concept machine is the latest result of their exploration of smartphone form. It comes with a step-less OLED flexible scroll screen with a minimum of 6.7 inches and a maximum of 7.4 inches.
Compared with the current folding screen, the scroll screen can achieve a step-less adjustment between the minimum and maximum size. This will bring more possibilities for productivity, entertainment, and daily use. You can enjoy the experience of a large screen when watching movies and reading. In addition to the full screen during playing games, you can also display message dialogues in the expanded area.

OPPO X 2021 New Technologies
For such a smartphone, OPPO must focus on developing a new set of technologies, especially the structure of the reel. For this reason, OPPO structural engineers have developed a ‘Roll Motor’ power scheme, which outputs constant force through two built-in drive motors. It is directly used to expand and retract the screen. So the screen is evenly stressed during the movement, and can effectively prevent the screen from damages when suddenly stressed.

Secondly, in order to make the screen of the OPPO X 2021 scroll screen concept machine complete and not dented, OPPO has also developed a dual matrix embedded clutch structure. There are two pallets inside the fuselage, which can effectively support the screen in any form.
When the screen is closed, the two pallets can be seamlessly spliced into the same plane; when the screen is unfolded, one of the pallets slides out synchronously, and the left and right pallets support the unfolded screen to keep the screen smooth.
The third core technology is the self-developed Warp Track screen dynamic zone frame laminate. It uses extremely high-strength steel as the main material. The thinnest part is only 0.1mm. With the linear pattern etched on the laminate surface, it provides sufficient premise of support. The bending resilience of the screen is not increased.
In the development of this product, OPPO stated that they have accumulated a large number of patents, and obtained a total of 122 patents, including 12 core patents related to the reel mechanism.
