Redmi began its ascent as an independent brand with the Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7 smartphones – these devices were presented as rugged models. And the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G presented recently, judging by the official video, has not lost its strength.
The video shows both standard tests for “survivability” using a specially designed device, and “real-life tests”, where the smartphone basically falls, but also, for example, is subjected to a torture test. The device is also frozen and sprinkled with water. There is no full-fledged water protection in accordance with the IP68 degree, but there is protection against splashes and drops.
Apparently, the tests of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G passed with dignity, but it will be possible to accurately assess the strength of this model only by independent tests. And hopefully, they will be held soon.
By the way, the back panel of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is framed with glass (in Redmi Note 9 5G it is plastic), and judging by the video, this glass is quite strong. But can it match the strength of the Ceramic Shield glass in the iPhone 12? We will see.
