Apple recently released the Apple Mac mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro that uses the new M1 chip as well as the macOS Big Sur. Although recent reports show that the M1 chip is performing really well, it appears that all is not yet Uhuru for the M1 chip MacBooks. There have been a plethora of complaints regarding the new Apple M1 MacBooks. Let us take a closer look at the issues reported so far for the M1 MacBooks
Bluetooth Failure
YouTuber, Patrick Tomasso, pointed out that there are a couple of problems with the Mac Mini. According to him, the issues include frequent disconnection from peripherals or even complete failure.
On Reddit, some M1 Mac users complained that first-party and third-party peripherals, including mice, keyboards, and headsets, suffer intermittent disconnections.
The problem seems to be with either Apple’s hardware or the macOS Big Sur. This is because users can successfully connect to Logitech accessories using the company’s Unifying Receiver Bluetooth dongle. A Redditor contacted Apple to replace his Mac mini, but the alternative had the same problem.

In addition, some users said that although they clicked the Bluetooth “connect” button, the device was not actually connected.
“My new Mac mini and MacBook Air cannot connect to my Logitech M720 mouse using Bluetooth. It appeared in the Bluetooth search list, and after I clicked “Connect”, it kept showing “Connected” and “Not connected…It changes repeatedly between the two states. In fact, it is not connected to my mouse at all.”, a user complained
Magic Control Board disconnects
In addition to the Bluetooth connection failure of third-party accessories, Apple’s first-party Magic Control Board and Magic Control Keyboard also experienced disconnection problems. According to user feedback, this phenomenon seems to occur frequently.
Some users claim that their Magic Control Board can disconnect more than 10 times per hour.
Suddenly crash and restart / black screen
On Chinese forums, some users reported that the M1 version of MacBook Pro suddenly crashed and restarted. In addition, some users reported that the device would have a black screen inexplicably.
Following the previous upgrade of the new version of the Big Sur system that may cause problems such as bricking, the new M1 version of the MacBook may indeed have some problems in terms of stability.
At present, Apple officials are aware of these issues, but it is not clear whether these issues are related to the Big Sur system or the M1 chip.
