Redmi Note 9 4G To Launch As Redmi 9 Power In India

Redmi Note 9 lineup got unveiled recently in China. We got three new devices as expected including Redmi Note 9 5G, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 9 4G. Many of you were wondering if these three devices will come to the global markets. So yes, the Redmi Note 9 4G is coming to India. It is listed on the Google Play Supported List with model number M2010J19SI. It will be coming with a new moniker “Redmi 9 Power.”

If you are wondering about the new Redmi Note 9 lineup, then let me give you a little introduction. Redmi Note 9 lineup was unveiled in early 2020 for global markets. The lineup never made its way to Xiaomi’s home country, China. But now, Xiaomi thought it was the time to launch the Note 9 lineup in China. But to make things different, they launched the first-ever Note series with 5G. We were not sure if the lineup will make its way to global markets, but now we can say that you will see the new devices in global markets.

Redmi Note 9 4G / Redmi 9 Power – Specifications

To recall, the Redmi Note 9 4G is an entry-level smartphone. Hence, Redmi is opting to launch it under number series instead of Note in India. You will get a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel on the Redmi 9 Power. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Not to mention, you will not find any higher refresh rate on this phone.

It comes with a triple camera setup comprising of 48-megapixel, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. You can record videos at 1080p@30fps on the Redmi 9 Power. On the front, you will get a single 8-megapixel shooter. Unfortunately, it is a teardrop notch on the phone. Punch-hole should have been implemented in my opinion for the new smartphones.

Talking about the performance of the Redmi 9 Power, it is powered by a Snapdragon 662 chipset. The Chinese version comes with a starting 128GB internal storage, so expect plenty of storage. There is a huge 6000mAH battery that can be fast-charged at 18W. Some notable features include stereo speakers as well as water repellent coating and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Do we really need a Redmi 9 Power in global markets?

Redmi has launched a vast amount of entry-level phones. Heck, the Redmi 9 itself got re-launched so many times. I lost track of all the variants. They also got one of them (Redmi C3) re-branded into a POCO phone (POCO C3). Well, what makes this phone special? Maybe it’s the Snapdragon processor.
