There used to be a time when TWS earbuds were quite expensive and only a few companies were actually making them. That soon changed when Chinese smartphone makers stepped in to bring affordable TWS earbuds to the masses. One such brand is Xiaomi. It has already launched a bunch of truly wireless earbuds expanding its wearable portfolio. Xiaomi has categorized its wearable offering into two lineups namely Mi and Redmi. All the wearables that fall under the former are the company’s premium offerings while the Redmi contains the cheaper and affordable TWS for the masses. Well, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is now working on a new TWS dubbed Redmi AirDots 3.
As the name suggests, the Redmi AirDots 3 succeeds the previous-gen Redmi AirDots 2 that was launched back in July. Well, the wearable has now received a key certification suggesting essential insights on the availability.
Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3 gets Bluetooth certification!
Gizchina News of the week
The Redmi AirDots 3 has now made its way to Bluetooth SIG for its certification. As per the listing, the audio wearable will arrive with model number TWSEJ08LS. It is worth noting that the listing mentions two monikers of the product namely Redmi True Buds 2 Pro and Redmi AirDots 3. Xiaomi might be thinking of launching the product with different names depending on the market. Lastly, the audio product will arrive with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Apart from this, the listing doesn’t really mention any hardware-related aspects and that makes sense considering it’s a Bluetooth certification.
We’re expecting the third iteration of AirDots to come with some significant improvements. We might see improved audio, ambient mode, and of course, better battery life. A smaller form factor will also be a solid addition to the lineup. When it comes to the design and aesthetics, both the iteration of the Redmi AirDots looks similar. We might see the same design ideology with the third iteration as well. Of course, we’re just speculating over here so all of this should be taken with a pinch of salt until we see some concrete evidence.
With Redmi AirDots 3 now receiving the Bluetooth certification, it is safe to say that the product is indeed inching closer to its official unveiling. If that’s the case, then we might hear more about it in the coming week or months. Whenever that happens, we will of course make sure to keep our valuable readers updated.
