The upcoming Honor V40 series will completely use MediaTek chips

Reliable Chinese analyst at Digital Chat Station has confirmed the codename Honor V40 and has even revealed a few details regarding the SoC that it will use. According to the source, Honor V40 has model number YOK-AN10 and is codenamed YORK.

As for the SoC, due to the lack of flagship Kirin 9000 platforms, which will be in use only in Huawei smartphones, the new V40 will use a MediaTek chip. An insider confirmed that a Kirin 9000-based version of the V40 was in development, but it has been canceled.

Now all Honor V40 smartphones will receive an unnamed Dimensity platform. Perhaps we are talking about Dimensity 1000+ or ​​the yet unannounced 6-nanometer MT6893 platform.

The presentation of the Honor V40 is now expected in January next year.

Probably, in both, it was supposed to use the Kirin 9000 SoC, of ​​which there are already few, so Huawei had to choose which flagship would get them. Since the Mate 40 is a fairly fresh smartphone, it is logical to give all the available stock of Kirin 9000 to the promising P50.
