Lately, there have been a couple of leaks and speculations regarding Huawei’s upcoming phones. Recently, a popular Chinese Weibo leaker, @ChanganDigitalKing reported that the Huawei nova 8 will come with a 3,000 yuan ($459) starting price. In addition, he also reports that the nova 8 Pro will start at 4000 yuan ($612). According to speculations, the tentative launch date for these smartphones is December 23rd. There are also reports that they will commence sales on December 30th. Today, the same leaker stated that this series will come with Huawei Kirin chips.

According to @DigitalChatStation, Huawei is about to launch a new smartphone with the Dimensity 700 chip. The new device uses a 6.5-inch FHD LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It also comes with a single punch-hole camera at the upper left corner of the display. On the front, this smartphone uses a 16MP shooter. However, the rear has a quad-camera setup. The configuration includes a 48MP main sensor as well as an 8MP+2MP+2MP combination to complete the quad rear camera setup. Furthermore, this device uses a built-in 4000 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charge.

Harmony OS 2.0 Hardware Requirements Announced

A few weeks ago, Huawei held the 2020 Developer Conference and released Harmony OS 2.0. After the meeting, Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei’s Software Department, and Yang Haisong, Vice President of Huawei’s Software Department, gave an interview.

Speaking of the Harmony OS 2.0 plan; Yang Haisong said that the Beta version for the smartphones will be available to the developers in December this year.

‘Just as Wang Bo announced today, our code warehouse on the official website and Code Cloud has been completely open to the public. You can already see all the open-source codes and related materials of our Harmony OS on the Internet. In the future Category loading refers to the categories covered by equipment loading. This will be our very important focus in the future.’

Yang Haisong revealed that in a year, Huawei’s own equipment running on the Harmony OS will exceed 100 million.

Wang Chenglu said that installing the Harmony OS system does not need to be tailored. You only need to have the corresponding hardware parameters and you can install it.

Regarding the hardware requirements, Wang Chenglu said that installing Harmony OS requires as little as 128KB of RAM.
