Xiaomi introduced the world’s first smartphone with a 108MP camera one year ago in the form of Mi Note 10. It basically determined the future of Xiaomi devices as this sensor made a comeback in the Mi 10 series and now is going to also appear in the Mi 11. The company seems to be quite satisfied with the performance of this sensor as well as its philosophy of multiple-camera smartphones. Curiously, Samsung struggled with its first attempt with a 108MP camera, but Xiaomi, so far, is performing well. The latest addition to the company’s portfolio of 108MP camera smartphones was the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. Now, the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station states that at least two Xiaomi and Two Redmi Phones with 108MP cameras will be revealed in 2021.

He further states that at least one of these smartphones will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 SoC. While he didn’t specify the exact name of these devices, it’s not impossible to determine at least one of them – the Mi 11. While it makes sense for the Mi 11 Pro to also come with a 108MP camera, this isn’t confirmed right now. The other two devices could be the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro. The latter is also expected to come with a Snapdragon 888 SoC. While this is just based in assumptions, it’s quite plausible. Xiaomi made the 108MP a reality in the mid-range series with the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G release. For that reason, it makes sense for us to expect the sensor in the Redmi’s flagship killer series.
Mi 11 series, Redmi K40 series, and Redmi Note 10 series
Xiaomi already announced that the Mi 11 will be the first smartphone to launch with the Snapdragon 888 SoC. This basically confirms the device’s launch for the first weeks of January 2021. On other hand, Lu Weibing, Redmi General Manager, also confirms the next flagship series with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Well, it’s not hard to imagine that he’s talking about the Redmi K40 series. The flagship version may come with an impressive 108MP camera combo, Snapdragon 888, and a bezel-less display with a pop-camera mechanism like its predecessor.
Another possibility is that one of the four devices is a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. It may reach Global markets next year as a Redmi Note 10 Pro. There is a one hundred percent chance that devices under the Redmi Note 9 5G series will reach global markets eventually. Xiaomi could save a lot of work rebranding them to Redmi Note 10 devices. The 108MP camera aligned with 5G will certainly add a lot of appeal in a Redmi Note 10 Pro.
