Gizchina News of the week
In addition to the high-resolution panel, Xiaomi will introduce some new display functions on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. An XDA senior member recently discovered some new display functions in the latest MIUI 12 beta code. This includes MEMC video frame supplement, video real-time SDR to HDR as well as video super-resolution.
Xiaomi has implemented MEMC in several previous mobile phones, including Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Xiaomi 10T Pro. However, the company is yet to use the video real-time SDR to HDR or video super-resolution functions in any of its devices. There are some other devices on the market that provide real-time SDR to HDR video conversions, such as OPPO Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro. At present, it is unclear whether Xiaomi will use self-developed display technology to provide these functions, or will obtain authorization from companies such as Pixelworks. Speculations are that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will pack these features.
From what we already know, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will come with a QHD+ resolution panel and the refresh rate will reach 120Hz. This is a huge leap for Xiaomi considering that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro uses a FHD+ panel and the refresh rate is 120Hz. The likes of OPPO Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro already uses QHD+ 120Hz panel.
