Obama's TPP would have slowed down China's economic clout in the region, but likely would not have stopped it. Trump, by cancelling it altogether, did China a huge favor. Same kind of favor Bush did to Iran by taking out Saddam and his army. Short of a major disruptive incident, the Chinese economy at it's current pace of growth, will likely surpass the US economy in my lifetime. The US is currently too mired in political idiocracy and a slowly fading sense of superiority. If the Chinese manage to bypass OFAC and the Patriot act through sheer economic gravitas, the US will have a hard time issuing economic threats to anyone, and the reign of the dollar as a stallion currency will likely fade away. The only thing we'll have left is military power. For a while.

Huawei's strength is in infrastructure network equipments, not in 5G baseband chips where QCOM has solid dominance. Samsung and LG, along with Huawei, are the largest 5G core patents holders in the world. Like I said earlier, no US companies competes in the network equipment business where Huawei had a huge sales lead due to their cheap wares.

Liang Mong-Sang, the former exec at TSMC, is no longer with SMIC and Huawei can't make chips using 7nm or below node processing without EUV. ASML the only maker of EUV machines isn't exporting to China anytime soon. So much wishful thinking.

Samsung is the largest electronics manufacturer in the world — in 2019, they grossed about $220B versus Huawei's $120B, or about half that of Samsung. Further, Huawei is not owned by individual 93K workers, they are owned by the CCP that controls the workers's union where all Huawei workers' are required to join. The fact that Huawei was allowed to sell billions of their stolen wares to the West is not what signifies their modus operandi, but it's CCP cloaked in a quasi-private business entity.

So much ignorance and so many unfounded claims. Huawei is known throughout the industry for having the most advanced 5G chip design in the world, more so than QCom. In 5G chip design, Huawei dominates all its competitors. So, obviously you have no idea what you're talking about.

The US already screwed Samsung during Apple vs Samsung trial. It was, of course, it was no surprise that Apple had to settle all lawsuits outside the US where they had zero chance of gaining any legal leverage with their absurd lawsuits.

Actually Samsung is 2nd; Apple's 2019 gross was $260B. Huawei is like 5th or 6th.
