On January 11, Chinese manufacturer, iQOO will officially release its latest flagship smartphone, iQOO 7. This smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 888 chip as well as advanced versions of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Another selling point of this smartphone is its support for 120W super fast charging. In a series of Weibo posts, iQOO released the first official image captured with the iQOO 7 camera.
The images capture Route 66 in Zhongwei – Ningxia (China), a stunting motorcycle ride in the Tengger Desert, and a small lizard in the Tengger Desert (using the macro lens). While the images are not entirely spectacular, they show good details and colour optimization.
In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 888 will bring 135% of graphics improvements. The enhanced version of LPDDR5 memory will bring 113.2% of read speed, and the enhanced version of UFS 3.1 flash memory will bring 117.3% of random write speed. In addition, 120W fast charging can fully charge the phone in 15 minutes.
A new Vivo device with model number “V2049A” recently hit the AnTuTu database. Looking at the configuration of this device, there are speculations that this is the iQOO 7. In terms of configuration, the new phone uses a 2400 × 1080 resolution display. It also comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Of course, it uses the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
Gizchina News of the week
In terms of running points, the core of this device is 752, 935 points. This is even higher than the official reference score from Qualcomm for the Snapdragon 888. In terms of sub-scores, the CPU score is 200616 points, the GPU score is 340539 points, the MEM score is 114445 points, and the UX score is 97335 points.
The performance of the GPU is eye-catching. Its GPU score is about 20,000 points higher than the performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 reference prototype. This means that iQOO 7 is very good in terms of heat dissipation design. It will also help to liberate more of the potential of the Adreno 660 GPU.
It is important to note that the current iQOO 7 score is probably from an engineering prototype. Thus, there is a possibility that this score can increase after its official launch.
Earlier this month, iQOO released the official images of the iQOO 7. The company also confirmed that this device will be the official KPL machine and it will use Qualcomm’s latest flagship platform, Snapdragon 888.
The top model of this phone will still use a triple rear camera setup. However, it will have a cloud-level module design and replace the super-outsole GN1 sensor with a normal outsole main camera. The iQOO 7 has also passed the Chinese 3C certification and supports 120W fast charging. There is also news that iQOO 7 will be equipped with Vivo’s new operating system, OriginOS.
