Chinese manufacturer, Meizu, has not been very active in the manufacturing business. Last year, the company released only the Meizu 17 series and a few other devices. Although we do not know its schedule for this year, it appears to be having a good start. This morning, Meizu officially announced that it will release the Meizu POP Pro active noise reduction headphones on January 11.
Earlier, there were reports that Meizu is planning to release a true wireless headset with an active noise reduction function. Meizu Technology Marketing Director, Wan Zhiqiang, confirmed the authenticity of this news on Weibo. At the same time, he also confirmed that there is a smartwatch. The speculations so far suggest that this watch will be official in the first quarter of this year.
The official teaser video only has the date of this device. Thus, we do not have any official image of the upcoming Meizu POP Pro active noise reduction headphone. Nevertheless, the patent images show that this device will be similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro. There is a power button on the outside of the charging box, a Type C charging port at the bottom, and a battery status indicator on the front.
Meizu Watch is set to hit the market – uses a 420mAh battery
According to reports out of China, the Meizu Watch is already in mass production. The report also claims that this smartwatch will be available in the market soon. In terms of specifications, this smartwatch comes with a 420 mAh battery. Furthermore, this device also uses Meizu’s new ANC active noise reduction. Unfortunately, these are the only specs that the report reveals. Nevertheless, @DigitalChatStation also claims that Meizu real wireless headphones will arrive soon.
Gizchina News of the week
Meizu has previously applied for the registration of trademarks such as “Flyme For WATCH” and “MEIZU WATCH” for the watch system. In addition, Meizu’s official WeChat account also announced that Meizu will launch Flyme for Watch in the fourth quarter of this year, confirming that the company plans to launch a smartwatch product.
In addition, a smartwatch appeared on Meizu Zhiqi’s eighth-anniversary celebration poster with a square display. We believe that this could be the upcoming Meizu watch.
Meizu Watch to open a new chapter in the smartwatch industry
Meizu does not have many smartwatches. In fact, it has only one smartwatch and it is almost four years old. Since the Meizu MIX smartwatch which was released in 2016, the company has not focused on smartwatches.
According to reports, Meizu Watch now has an official Weibo handle. The introduction of this page is “Flyme for Watch, see you in Q4 2020”. This suggests that Meizu may launch a new version in the fourth quarter of this year. Of course, the smartwatch will come with the Flyme for Watch system.
According to Weibo blogger @Vetrax, Meizu issued some Mid-Autumn Festival thank you cards to some users. There was a sentence in the thank-you speech: “Flyme for Watch will meet you in Q4”. It indicates that Meizu intends to launch a smartwatch product in the fourth quarter of this year.
Given that Meizu has stayed out of the smartwatch business just after it entered, the company is about to open a new chapter in the smartwatch industry. We have very high expectations regarding the upcoming Meizu Watch.
