POCO revolutionized the smartphone market in 2018 with the original Pocophone F1. The device brought that year’s flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 845 to an insanely cheap price tag. The company was put to rest by Xiaomi in 2019 to be revived only in 2020. Last year, the brand announced its independence as a separate brand. Unfortunately, it had a very slow start with just a few rebranded Xiaomi devices. Things are starting to improve since the launch of the POCO X3 and POCO M3 as two original smartphones. Despite the controversial strategy, POCO phones are still selling pretty well in markets like India.
Not a long ago, POCO announced that it sold more than 1 million units of the entry-level POCO C3 smartphone in India. Now, it’s the turn for another budget smartphone to announce this milestone the POCO M2. For those unaware, the POCO M2 was launched in the second half of 2020 in India. It basically was a rebranded Redmi 9 with some design changes. It has the same dual-tone design saw in the POCO M2 Pro, a Redmi Note 9 Pro clone. This is an impressive milestone for the low-end handset especially due to the fact that it can only be purchased via Flipkart.
