This data is also the latest statistics of app downloads after the WhatsApp incident. On January 6 this year, the media reported that WhatsApp had changed its user terms. It was hoping that users would agree to the app to collect certain user information, otherwise its services would no longer be available. Sensor Tower estimated at the time that the App Store and Google Play Store had nearly 7.5 million downloads and installations of Signal in just five days to 1/10. This was 43 times that of the previous week.

Telegram claims to have more than 100 million new users in January. In order to attract general users to join, Telegram has also added a number of functions in recent revisions. They include the ability to import communication records on WhatsApp, Line, KokaoTalk, including text, videos and documents in personal chats or group calls, and delete encrypted messages, groups and call records, as well as emoticons, stickers and music playback functions.
