Huawei’s smartphone business is not doing very well in China because of the ban by the U.S. However, the company will not entirely close its smartphone business. It recently sold its Honor sub-brand to another Chinese firm and it appears that this is the best it will do. Despite its very poor sales outside China, the company is still releasing new smartphones. A recent report claims that Huawei is completely ready to release its next flagship smartphone, the Huawei P50 series. According to popular Twitter leakster, Teme, Huawei will still release over ten devices this year.
The company will unveil two flagship smartphone series, a foldable phone, tablet, smartwatch, and earbud. Here is the full list of devices to expect from Huawei according to Teme
- Huawei Mate X2
- Huawei P50
- Huawei-P50 Pro
- Huawei P50 Pro+
- Huawei Watch 3/GT3
- Huawei-MatePad Pro 2
- Huawei MatePad 2
- Huawei Freebuds 4 / 4i
- Huawei-Mate 50
- Huawei Mate 50 Pro
- Huawei Mate 50 Pro+/RS
- Huawei-Freebuds Pro 2
As of now, we do not have much information about any of these devices except the Mate X2 and Huawei P50 series. According to @Teme, the prototype design for the Huawei P50 series is ready. Furthermore, this series will go into mass production very soon. The Huawei P50 series will have only three versions – Huawei P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pro+. In terms of specs, what we know as “Lite” model in the previous generation will be the new standard version. In addition, the standard version in the previous generations will be the new Pro model while the previous generation Pro model will be the new Pro+ model.
Gizchina News of the week
Teme claims that the selling points of this series include screen quality, a new super-sensitive rear camera system, and brand new gaming features. His leak also has information on the processor of this series. He claims that the Huawei P50 (standard model) will use the Kirin 9000E chip. However, the Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ will come with the Kirin 9000 SoC.
Huawei P50 alleged launch date
According to @RODENT950, the Huawei P50 series will be official between March 26th and March 28th. However, it appears that Teme’s launch date information is based on the previous product release sequence. We are not so certain that Huawei can meet up with its regular release timeline. After the release of this device, the company will also release the new foldable smartphone, Mate X2.
From previous reports, the Huawei P50 will have three size models. The series will have a 6.1-6.2 inch standard model, a 6.6-inch Pro model, and a 6.8-inch Pro+ model. The regular version of the Huawei P50 series will use a 90Hz refresh rate screen. However, the Pro models will come with a 120Hz refresh rate. This series will come with a central punch-hole design.
