Oppo Find X3 Pro will take mobile macro photography to the next level

Oppo Find X3 Pro

A well-known network informant under the nickname Ice Universe, who often shares exclusive information about new products in the mobile industry, said that this year smartphone manufacturers will pay more attention to high-quality macro photography.

The flagship camera phone Oppo Find X3 Pro will be on the market very soon, which will make macro photography on smartphones much more popular than before. He added that users will take macro shots much more often, as they will now reach a whole new level of quality.

The main camera of the smartphone will include two 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensors with conventional and ultra-wide-angle lenses. The 13-megapixel camera will provide 2x optical zoom. There will also be a 3MP macro camera, which will provide 25x zoom. Oppo Find X3 Pro will receive an OFILM lens, it will surpass all previously released smartphones in zoom capabilities. It is compared to a microscope.

According to previous leaks, the smartphone will receive a Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 6.7-inch curved OLED display and a 4500 mAh battery.

Oppo Find X3 spotted in AnTuTu and AIDA64 with Snapdragon 870 SoC

Qualcomm surprised everyone this year with the unveiling of the Snapdragon 870 SoC. This particular chipset stands as a “cost-effective” alternative over the Snapdragon 888. Of course, it’s not priced like a mid-range chipset, but it still is cheaper than its bigger brother. The new chipset basically is an overclocked Snapdragon 865+, but instead of calling it Snapdragon 865++, Qualcomm decided to bring it with Snapdragon 870 moniker. This chipset allows companies to bring down the price of certain phones without compromising performance. Motorola was the first brand to adopt it with the Motorola Edge S, but Oppo seems to be following with its Oppo Find X3.

Gizchina News of the week

The Chinese company is gearing up to unveil the Oppo Find X3 series made of multiple smartphones. Instead of making the vanilla Oppo Find X3 and Oppo Find X3 Pro similar in specifications, the brand will use distinct chipsets for each one. According to leaked benchmark listings, the Oppo Find X3 will sport the Snapdragon 870 chipset, whereas the Oppo Find X3 Pro is expected to come with the Snapdragon 888. The family will also get an Oppo Find x3 Neo, and Find X3 Lite; but those are mostly premium-mid-range phones based on other existing devices.

The Oppo Find X3 packs a Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with 8GB / 256GB and Android 11 OS

The newly leaked info comes courtesy of two AnTuTu and AIDA64 benchmark listings and reveals the device is bearing the PEDM00 model name. The actual listings show the chipset with the Kona codename. This codename usually belongs to the Snapdragon 865. One of the accompanying screenshots reveals the About device section which shows it’s running on the Snapdragon 870 platform. As we mentioned above, the Snapdragon 870 bears the same architecture as the Snapdragon 865; so that’s why benchmark listings will recognize it as Kona.

The Find X3 with Snapdragon 870 also has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. We assume that the brand will also bring other RAM / Storage variants. The phone runs ColorOS 11.2 on top of Android 11. The display resolution is set at 2,412 x 1,080 pixels. This corroborates with rumors stating that only the Find X3 Pro will have QHD+ resolution. The vanilla will stick to the good and old FHD+ resolution. The listing also mentions a 12.6MP camera sensor.

We expect more details to come in the next weeks. After all, the Find X3 series launch is rumored to happen sometime in March.
