Redmi 9 Power with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage coming to India

Redmi 9 Power

Back in December, Xiaomi unveiled its Chinese Redmi Note 9 family composed of three devices – Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi Note 9 5G, and 9 Pro 5G. Shortly after the announcement, the brand started to bring these variants to global markets but in a disguise. The Redmi 9T reached global markets last month, but it was launched in India in December as Redmi 9 Power. The device was a confusing announcement since it is really close to the company’s POCO M3. It does, however, come with an ultra-wide camera, something that the POCO handset lacks.

The device will get a new variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage

Things will be more strange in the coming weeks. After all, an insider source states that Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce a 6GB RAM variant of the Redmi 9 Power in the Indian market. It will shrink the gap between it and the POCO M3 further. After all, the POCO M3 reached India earlier this month with 6GB of RAM making it better than the global variants that are limited to 4GB of RAM. The Redmi 9 Power with 6GB of RAM will be packed along with 128GB of Internal Storage. It will be the highest tier variant coming at an alleged price of INR 12,999($180) which is very good for this pack of specifications. It is pricier than the POCO M3 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but again, we have to say that the Redmi 9 Power has a better set of specs, like the extra camera.

Gizchina News of the week

Redmi 9 Power

The Redmi 9 Power price currently starts at INR 10,999 ($150) for the variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. It goes up to INR 11,999 ($165) for the 4GB/128GB version. Worth noting that th bigger storage chip is of the faster UF 2.2 variety, instead of UFS 2.1. Worth noting that this also was a difference between POCO M3 64GB and 128GB variants.

Redmi 9 Power specifications

The Redmi 9 Power gets its “Power” name due to its massive 6,000mAh battery. It supports 18W charging and reverses charging at 2.5W. Under the hood, it carries the Snapdragon 662 chipset that is replacing the “Snapdragon 665” among mid-range phones. The camera department brings a Quad-Camera array comprising a 48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Moving around to the front, we have a 6.53-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. The cutout serves as a house for the 8MP selfie snapper. The phone also packs Stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner
