Oppo Reno5 K coming soon as a rebranded Reno5 5G with Snapdragon 750G

Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G

Oppo revealed its Oppo Reno5 family in December and is working hard to expand it. Yesterday, we’ve saw the Oppo Reno5 F in the Oppo Kenya website, today another variant dubbed Oppo Reno5 K surfaced on Weibo. According to Weibo’s leakster, the phone is coming soon, but it isn’t entirely new. It is based on the Oppo Reno5 5G. However, it does not come with a Snapdragon 765G, but a Snapdragon 750G SoC instead.

The Oppo Reno5 K packs a 6.43-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution. It has a top-left aligned punch-hole serving as a house for the 32MP f/2.4 selfie snapper. Moving around to the back, there is a 64MP main camera sitting alongside an 8MP ultrawide unit and two 2MP auxiliary sensors.

Oppo Reno5 K price, specs, and availability

The Oppo Reno5 5G is available in two distinct memory combinations. The basic variant will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. There is another variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. The device’s price will start from CNY2,699. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno5 K will only be available in the first choice. It will also be cheaper at CNY 2,499 (~$385) for obvious reasons. Although the Snapdragon 750G is a powerful chipset, it still is slightly below the Snapdragon 765G in terms of performance. The device will also reach the market in just two colorways – MoonLight and Starry Dream. It will lack the Aurora Blue color that is available for Oppo Reno5 5G.

The Opo Reno5 5G also packs a 4,300mAh battery with a 65W fast-charging system. It runs Android 11-based ColorOS 11 straight out of the box. Hopefully, these features will also be available in the Oppo Reno5 K. Unfortunately, we have no idea when the new handset will reach the market. But considering the level of info that leaked, we assume that it is just a matter of time.

Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno5 F will also make an appearance soon. However, it will be a 4G-only smartphone, as no leak talks about 5G connectivity. And this certainly is something that a company would be teasing.

Oppo will run a big event in the next month to reveal its Oppo Find X3 series. Apart from vanilla and Pro units, the brand will also unveil Neo and Lite variants. These variants probably will be rebranded with Oppo Reno5 smartphones. Now, that question that remains is which are the variants coming for global markets.
