Gionee Max Pro with 6,000mAh battery will go official on March 1

Gionee Max

Gionee’s name may not be the most popular nowadays. However, it was a quite relevant smartphone maker some years ago. The company is original from China and released a bunch of interesting devices a few years ago. It also was one of the first Chinese brands to be on the Indian market. Despite their initial efforts, the brand couldn’t keep its relevance among other giants like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo. The brand went into a hiatus but returned to the Indian and Chinese market last year with low-end devices. Now, Gionee is ready to start 2021 with a new smartphone for the Indian market dubbed Gionee Max Pro.

The new handset will go official on March 1 in India. It is a successor for the Gionee Max, which was released in August 202 in India. The Gionee Max Pro will go be available on sale via Flipkart. The website confirms some of the key specifications of the Gionee Max Pro. We have to say that besides the battery capacity, the specifications are far from being impressive. However, take in mind that this is a budget-oriented smartphone and it will be quite affordable.

Gionee Max Pro alleged specifications

The handset has a 6.2-inch waterdrop-style notched display. Since the handset is meant for the low-end segment, we’re betting on an HD+ resolution and an LCD screen. Worth noting that despite the notch, the bezels are quite thick and are on par with certain low-end smartphones. The key selling point of the handset is a 6,000mAh battery, but it will also come with 3GB of RAM which makes multitasking quite decent. Storage-wise the phone will have just 32GB of Internal Storage. Of course, like with other devices in this category, you can use a microSD card slot to expand the memory further. The battery capacity is awesome, but we’ll wait to see if the phone will come with any kind of fast-charging. After all, this massive battery can take several hours to charge over a standard charger. Hopefully, the phone will have a USB-C port. Considering that this is Gionee, I’m waiting for Android 10… Hopefully, the company will prove that I’m wrong with Android 11.

Unfortunately, the specifications are scarce right now. We expect more details to be revealed in the coming days. As mentioned above, the smartphone will go official in India on March 1 at 12 PM local time.
