Realme made its entrance in the Brazillian smartphone market late last year with the Realme 7 Pro. The handset is sold by local partners who import and sell the smartphone. Realme didn’t make a big buzz to announce its arrival in Brazil. We can consider that the company is testing itself in a country that has one of the toughest importing rates in the world. Despite the slow start, Realme is ready to launch some of its most anticipated smartphones in Brazil – The Realme 8 series.

Today, Friday (26), Realme Brazil shared an invite via its Instagram account inviting users for the company’s next big event on March 2. According to the post, the next smartphone presented by the company in Brazill will have a 108MP main sensor. If you’ve been following Realme’s recent teasers, you already know that the Realme 8 series will come with the company’s brand new 108MP camera setup. We assume that Realme will be using Samsung’s HM1 sensor just like the Redmi Note 10 series.
The 108MP camera sensor inside of a Realme 8 smartphone was confirmed by the company’s VP and CEO of Realme India and Europe, Madhav Sheth. The confirmation appeared just a couple of hours after Realme’s invitation for its next Camera Innovation Event. Now, Realme Brazil is asking local fans to stay tuned for the very same event which will happen on March 2. At this event, Realme will showcase its 108MP solution alongside other novelties. Unfortunately, we’ve no clues about the “other exciting things” being revealed at the event. We can clearly expect the Relame 8 series to make its debut shortly after this event.
Realme 8 Pro is likely the one with a 108MP shooter
We expect the 108MP camera to come alongside the other three sensors. Perhaps one for ultrawide shots, another one for macro, and finally a sensor for depth. This has been a standard for mid-range phones. Of course, it would be amazing to see the return of a telephoto camera to the Realme-numbered series.
So far, we’ve been associating this 108MP camera with the Realme 8 Pro. However, nothing is confirmed right now. The Pro variant is also said to the sport, for the first time, 5G connectivity. If that is the case, then the possible launch of Realme 8 Pro in Brazil is even more intriguing. After all, the country still lacks operating 5G networks. The development of such networks is still on paper. Anyway, nothing is confirmed besides the 108MP camera. The devices can even end as 4G smartphones.
We expect more news to surface in the coming days. The Realme 8 series might have a simultaneous launch in India and global markets.
