Instagram Lite with lower bandwidth consumption comes to 170 Countries

Facebook finally launched the Instagram Lite version. It uses less bandwidth as compared to the main Instagram app and takes only 2MB of space on your device. It will help the users who live in remote areas where internet speed is very low. Instagram Lite is available to download from Google Play Store in 170 countries. The 170 countries list includes African, Asian, and Latin American countries with older Internet infrastructure to access the service.

In case you don’t know Instagram launched its lite app in 2018 for the first time. Later in 2020 company pulls it from the Play store. Talking about the new Instagram lite app it includes the features like direct messages, record and post videos, and reels tab also.  Director of Product Management at Facebook Tel Aviv, Tzach Hadar says-

In Instagram Lite, you cannot use the data-rich animation and AR filters people can apply to faces in stories. However, you can use GIFs and stickers to make your Instagram stories impressive.

Other than the Instagram Lite, Tzach Hadar also says that Facebook developed an Express WiFi service to bring internet access to the 20 countries in Asia, Africa, and South America. Moreover, Facebook is also working on a digital wallet.
