Redmi Note 10 5G TENAA certification suggest imminent launch in China

Earlier this month, Xiaomi unveiled a bunch of new smartphones under its Redmi Note 10 series. The company introduced the Redmi Note 10, Note 10S, Note 10 Pro, and Note 10, Pro Max, as 4G smartphones and for the first time in global markets and India, a 5G Redmi Note smartphone dubbed Redmi Note 10 5G. Now, a new report suggests that the phone is about to reach the Chinese market.

An alleged Note 10 5G has surfaced on TENAA certification. Unfortunately, we can’t find the original listing, but it comes as a courtesy from the popular Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station. The leakster has images and key specifications to share. For that reason, we believe that this is 100% reliable. An interesting detail is that the certification suggests that the actual release is underway.

Redmi Note 10 5G coming soon for the Chinese market

Interestingly, there are some discrepancies between the specs listed here and those of the original global smartphone. However, this will not be the first time that Xiaomi unveils a smartphone with different specs in China. The phone still has the same design, 6.5-inch 90Hz IPS display, 5,000mAh battery, and 48MP main camera, but the charging speed is listed as 22.5W. The global variant of the handset only supports 18W fast-charging. There are two possibilities, the first is that the phone is coming with upgraded fast-charging tech.

The second is that this refers to the charging brick. The POCO M3, for example, has 18W fast-charging support, but the charging adapter offers 22.5W charging. Xiaomi has been doing this to cut on expenses by shipping its most popular 22.5W charger instead of making separate chargers for all its models. Only time will tell but the listing does coincide with the promised April release of the Global units.

The launch of the Redmi Note 10 5G in China is pretty much understandable, but we are curious to see if the 4G variants will launch there too. It’s an undeniable fact that 4G phones are, nowadays, less appealing in China. We won’t be surprised to see only the Redmi Note 10 5G coming to China at this point. The brand may prepare other 5G variants for its domestic market.

Redmi Note 10 5G specifications

The Redmi Note 10 5G packs a 6.5-inch 90Hz IPS display with FHD+ resolution and center-aligned punch-hole. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of expandable storage. The handset has a 48MP primary camera on its triple-camera setup and draws power from a huge 5,000mAh battery.
