Earlier this month, Oppo introduced the Oppo Find X3 series of flagship smartphones. The devices came with outstanding specifications such as the Snapdragon 870 and 888 chipsets. They also came with impressive camera hardware and gorgeous displays. However, the design also was one of the highlights of this smartphone series. Apart from the side that the handsets come with a first-in-industry microscope camera, the design of the camera setup is quite unique as well. Instead of simple squares and cutouts, the company created an effect that makes it look like the camera setup is escaping from the handset’s back. The phone’s design even has given it a Red Dot Design award. At the time of its release, the Oppo Find X3 Pro was available in three colorways – Gloss Black, Blue, and White, all with a glass back. Now, the company is bringing a new colorway to China dubbed Cosmic Mocha.
Gizchina News of the week
Instead of the traditional glass back, the company is going an alternative route with a vegan leather back. It’s just like last year’s Orange Leather Find X2 Pro model. The new colorway is only available for the high-tier 12GB/256GB variant. It costs CNY 5,999 ($915) on JD.com. The frame of the Cosmic Mocha Find X3 Pro features a light gold hue matching the camera island on the back. Interestingly, the 3D effect of the camera island is less appealing in this particular variant, we assume that it’s not so easy to create the illusory shadows in this vegan leather finish. The Oppo logo on the bottom corner of the device appears to be carved out into the Vegan leather.
