Realme started March with the release of its first 2021 flagship, the Realme GT. However, the Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone will not be the only “flagship” coming from Realme this month. The company is ready to unveil a new powerful smartphone dubbed Realme GT Neo. Instead of Qualcomm’s high-tier chipset, the phone will have MediaTek’s high-tier chipset, the Dimensity 1200 chip. The phone will also come with a capable 64MP camera. The big difference is that it probably will be cheaper than the original Realme GT. The Neo will be unveiled tomorrow in China, and a few hours ahead of the launch the device has paid a visit to GeekBench Benchmark.
The listing also confirms the Realme GT Neo as the RMX3031 smartphone and Android 11 straight out of the box. Worth mentioning that Android 11 also means confirms the company’s Realme UI 2.0.
Realme GT Neo to become one of the cheapest 12GB RAM smartphones
For those unaware, the Dimensity 1200 is an Octa-Core chipset with a 1x ARM Cortex-A78 core clocked at a whopping 3GHz. It also has three ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz and four power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2GHz. It also has a powerful ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU with HyperEngine 3.0 support for an enhanced gaming experience. This chipset supports displays with up to 168Hz refresh rate. However, this will not be the case with the GT Neo as we’re expecting a 120Hz like the vanilla GT.
Gizchina News of the week
One of the most interesting facts about this appearance is that the Realme GT Neo with 12GB of RAM probably will be one of the cheapest phones released by the company with 12 GB of RAM. The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 costs less than the Snapdragon 888 and 870, but offers a performance that is comparable to the Snapdragon 865. As a result, users will be very close to the high-tier segment with this smartphone.
Other details about the Realme GT Neo include a large battery with more than 4,000mAh and 65W fast-charging. The phone will also have a triple-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX682 leading the way. The Realme GT price starts at $465 which already is a very attractive price for a handset with Snapdragon 888. We believe that the GT Neo will be priced below this tag.
Realme V13 5G coming on March 31 as well
Besides the Realme GT Neo, Chinese leaksters also state that the Realme V13 5G will share the stage on March 31. This is a new budget 5G smartphone boasting an LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, and a 5,000mAh battery. The Realme V13 5G probably will be only released in China keeping the V-series exclusivity. However, the Realme GT Neo is rumored to reach other markets such as India. The device already got BIS certification which confirms its arrival on the Indian market.
